Hey, I’m Emily.

I am an aspiring author and illustrator for children of all ages. Yes, that includes you too, Dave.

My Vibe Is

Imaginative

My creativity tends to wander wherever it pleases. One moment I’m writing about a lonely crocodile who keeps accidentally chomping his friendships away; the next, I’m imagining my cat holding down various human jobs (she’d make an excellent supervisor). And on quieter days, when the world feels a bit heavy, I find myself sketching out slightly melancholic poems that help me breathe again.

Long story short: I love telling stories of every flavor. And if one of them makes you feel something—smile, laugh, ache a little—that’s the magic I’m chasing.

Life applicable

I think grown‑ups sometimes forget that children are whole humans, too. Sure, they’re small and new to the world, but that doesn’t mean their struggles aren’t real—sometimes they feel things even more deeply than we do.

That’s why my stories reach in a few different directions: sometimes toward gentle inspiration, sometimes toward a small lesson or a bit of encouragement for life’s wobbly moments, and sometimes straight into pure silliness—the kind that makes you grin without meaning to.

Whatever form they take, my hope is simple: that something in the story lingers with you, in the softest and kindest way.
